HEXACO
Six-factor personality model that adds Honesty-Humility to the Big Five.
Definition
HEXACO is a six-dimensional model (Honesty-Humility, Emotionality, eXtraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Openness) developed by Ashton and Lee. The added Honesty-Humility factor predicts ethical behavior, counterproductive work behavior, and exploitation in negotiations more strongly than Big Five Agreeableness alone.
Example
A candidate scoring low Honesty-Humility paired with high Extraversion is associated with elevated risk of workplace deception and self-dealing.
How it's measured
- •HEXACO-PI-R (200 items)
- •HEXACO-60 (short form)
How EQIQs uses it
EQIQs proxies Honesty-Humility from Big Five Agreeableness + Work Values when a HEXACO score is not directly supplied, and flags it as a preliminary observation until verified.
